Pampered Chef Evening - 7.30am on Tuesday 20th May 2008

We raised a fantastic £190 and had a very imformative cookery demonstration with thanks to Shannon.  Our new playhouse is being enjoyed by all the children at the moment.

Banardos Toddle - 22nd April 2008

More than 18 children took part in this fun event.  We all toddled around a specially marked out course at Westmill Park with obstacles!  the weather was lovely and we all still had the energy to play at the park afterwards!

We have raised over £303.  All money raised will be in aid of Barnardos who support vulnerable children in the UK.

Outstanding Provider Conference
We are pleased to announce that Her Majesty's Chief Inspector from Ofsted, Christine Gilbert formally invited us to attend a celebratory conference on 12th January 2008.  This was in recognition of all providers who achieved OUTSTANDING in all areas during inspection 2006/2007.

We had a wonderful time.  During the day we were invited to participate in compiling a publication for all settings within the United Kingdom detailing 'Outstanding' Practice.  Lorraine Said "It was such a priviledge to be part of planning the future of early years settings in conjunction with Ofsted".  We were praised on our achievements, had an opportunity to network with other providers and were also treated to a delicious lunch.

Further photos are on display within Nursery.

We have also made it into this prestigious list on Ofsted's website.

Teddy Bears Picnic - Friday 20th July

Due to a torrential downpour on the last day of term we had to have our Teddy Bears Picnic inside the hall.  All the children enjoyed the crafts on offer and shared a picnic with their teddies and families.  There was also time to sing a sad farewell to those children who left us to move onto 'big school'.  We wish them all well.

Father Day Celebrations - Friday 15th June

To recognise the 'Special People' in the children's lives we invited 'Special People' to attend  Nursery on Friday 15th June.   Fun activities were on offer and children prepared a healthy snack of fruit kebabs to share with their 'Special Person'.   It was a very successful morning and both children and 'Special People' commented on how much they enjoyed spending some quality time with their child and getting an insight into their time at Nursery. We plan to make this an annual event.

Charity Events

The children and staff have had lots of fun in the past raising money for different charities.   Here are just a few of the events we have held recently.

November 2007                           Children in Need                           Home Bakery Stall

Again our stall was well attended this year.  Parents were very generous in their contributions and the children had been busy all week cooking, cheese and potato pasties, monkey muffins and pudsey bear biscuits.   It was great to welcome residents of Westmill into the Nursery.  We raised a fantastic £80 for Children in Need!

November 2006                           Children in Need                           Home Produce Stall

To conclude our theme of shopping.   The Children ran a Home Produce Stall,   they made bread rolls and decorated Pudsey biscuits during the session to sell on their stall.   Parents kindly donated some yummy cakes and pastries.   We invited people from our local community and parents to come and buy our goodies.   We all had a great time and raised £46.00 for Children in Need!

October 2006                                   Genes for Jeans                             Best Dressed Jeans Fashion Show

Children and staff wore their jeans to school and we all helped each other decorate them with streamers, ribbons, bows, sparkly papers, beads and fabrics.   We then held our own mini fashion show complete with music and lights.   Our very own child judge, Alfie chose the winner.
